Pinterest, the new up and coming social media tool, has been popular among millions of consumers since August 2011. With millions of users worldwide, businesses are now finding a way to use Pinterest to take advertising and marketing to a whole new level.

Pinners of all generations spend hours a day creating pin boards designed to their own personal interests. When a pinner clicks on a pin, they are proving to drive consumers straight to the website the image came from. This type of tool can be used as a secret advertising campaign for any business or entrepreneur.

If companies took the time to upload their own pins, more pinners could be directed to their websites creating more exposure.

Uploading many pins a day not only allows consumers to locate their pins easily, but allows companies to control the look of their image.

If a business is able to create their own Pinterest account, they can pick and choose pinners to suit their ideal clientele.

Time Magazine named Pinterest one of the top 50 websites of 2011.
