“Anyone can give up, it’s the easiest thing in the world to do. But to hold it together when everyone else would understand if you fell apart, that’s true strength.” – Unknown
Tardiness, some of us do it on purpose not to show disrespect but to say ‘my time is more valuable than yours.’. Others do it by accident but either way you look at it, there is an underlying message here.
Being late to a dinner date with your new girlfriend may land you in about five minutes of hot water, something you are all to familiar with. Being late to a business meeting with the head of the board of directors on the other hand may have packing up your office and finding a new job.
How will you ever know when is the right time to be tardy?
When a casual scene is in the works with an old group of friends, being a hair late is completely acceptable. When it is your first day on a new job, being a few minutes late may potentially give off the wrong message such as “I don’t really want to even work here so i might as well show up late.”
Of course avoiding tardiness is the best thing you could do it is sometimes out of your control. Just remember being late does relay a message to the group whether you mean to or not.
